To reduce purchased energy costs, renewable energy sources are used. Optimum solar exposure provides passive solar heating to the home. Large windows on the south side of the home and large areas of thermal mass will store passive solar heat during the day and release it back into the space at night. A hydronic radiant floor system provides thermal comfort and is further enhanced through the use of concrete floors which act as thermal mass to store heat and distribute it evenly.
